Vaseline is one of the most important aids in the tattoo studio. It is used before, during, and after the tattooing process to protect the skin, keep the skin surface smooth, and support the entire tattoo process. In skin preparation before tattooing Vaseline ensures that the skin remains soft and flexible. During tattooing it forms a thin protective film that reduces friction and makes it easier to remove excess tattoo ink as well as wound fluid from the skin. This enables clean lines, a clear view of the design, and even color uptake. Fixing the stencil can also be supported with a thin layer of Vaseline.
